Tranquil Transitions
Psychotherapy & Counselling
Safe Therapy for Trans, Gender Nonconforming & Gender Questioning People.
Hello, I am Miles, a highly qualified psychotherapist and counsellor based
in West Bridgford, Nottingham. I work with young people (13+) and adults.
I work online and in person, whatever suits you best. I myself am a gender
nonconforming AFAB person.
Reaching out to seek psychotherapy or counselling can feel overwhelming,
unfamiliar or scary; so I am really glad that you've made it here. Please be
assured that whatever your reason for seeking therapy, you deserve a
therapeutic space, someone to hear you, see you and to feel supported- no reason is too big or too small, too common or too unusual. I welcome all experiences and identities in my therapy space- all parts of you are invited.
I have a Bsc (Hons) in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (University of Staffordshire), which included 110+ hours of my own personal therapy, 200+ clinical hours, 80+ clinical supervision hours, and my own research project. I have 4 years clinical experience as of 2026.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), my membership reference can be found on the footer of my website. I also have an enhanced DBS check.

How I Work
I specialise in long term weekly therapy, offering you a consistent safe space for you to express and explore what’s on your mind. This provides a routine of self care and self reflection each week. We can work at your pace, with your goals and needs at the centre of our work together.
Everyone is capable of change, we can all expand our ability to manage and express emotions such as anxiety, anger, sadness, grief or stress. We all have the capacity to improve our relationships, including our relationship with ourselves. I offer a relaxed, creative, warm and safe environment for you to focus on yourself, explore your experiences and find new parts of yourself.
It’s ok if you don’t have a clear goal or reason for therapy. Perhaps something in your life is feeling stuck or unfulfilling, or a part of you is feeling uncomfortable or misunderstood, maybe totally invisible. Perhaps there is a feeling, a thought, image, a physical sensation, a relationship or memory that is bothering you.
I work in a trauma informed, patriarchy informed, transphobia and queerphobia informed, and neurodiversity informed way. All people and experiences are welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need psychotherapy?
Perhaps something in your life is feeling stuck or unfulfilling, or a part of you is feeling uncomfortable or misunderstood, maybe totally invisible. Maybe there is a feeling, a thought, image, a physical sensation, a relationship or memory that is bothering you. It is equally ok to enter therapy for a specific reason, and to enter therapy not quite knowing your reasons yet, other than a desire or curiosity.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no set time on how long it takes to build a therapeutic relationship or how long therapy “should” be. Personally, I specialise in long term consistent therapy (6 months+), taking the time to work in depth with you, yet at a safe and steady pace, building a warm relationship with you as we go.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel a session, otherwise the session is still chargeable.
How often and how long are therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. I offer long term weekly session slots, weekly therapy gives us regular, consistent contact, which helps us to build a stronger therapeutic relationship and create a safer, more stable experience for you.
What are your fees and accepted methods of payment?
My fees are £50 per session. I prefer cash payments but I also accept bank transfer as well.
More About Me
Sometimes it can feel important to know a bit more about a therapist before you work with them, so here is some of me. I love being out in the world, on grass, on sand, in the woods, being near water- here are some of my own photos I've taken while out walking. I really enjoy being creative, I love drawing, digital art, painting, music, writing and poetry. I have a particular affection for abstract art, life drawing, Margaret Atwood, 'brat', Billie Eilish, Jacob Collier- just to name a few.
